To prepare for cutting and forming operations, we use a variety of computer aided design tools such as AUTOCAD and Photoshop.

We acquire images with high resolution scanner for use in silkscreening and design operations and both photographic techniques and high resolution laser printer are used to prepare artwork for silkscreening. Autocad determines the machining operations required for our computerized milling and routing machines. Many of our customers use CAD techniques and simply send us a file to use in the design process.

Cutting and forming operations are performed on the specific plastic stock selected for the project. We use automated cutting and routing equipment to prepare the shapes for forming operations, and then finish the completed piece to perfection.

Design equipment, and cutting and forming operations:

  • Autocad workstation
  • 1200DPI Scanning capability
  • 1200DPI Laser Printer
  • CAD/CAM capability
  • Adobe Photoshop software for manipulating scanned images
  • CNC milling and routing equipment
  • Multiple stripheating operations to 8'
  • Fully equipped shop for all machining and finishing operations

Plastics come in many forms. We typically work with sheet, rod, and tube stock of various types of plastics. Some of these are:

  • ABS
  • Acrylic
  • Delrin
  • Expanded PVC foam
  • Masonite (See, we also work with non-plastics!)
  • Nylon
  • P.E.T.G
  • Phenolic
  • Polycarbonate
  • Polyethylene
  • Polypropylene
  • PVC
  • Teflon
  • UHMW
Finishing operations complete our work on your project. We prepare each project with care using the finishing operations required. Typical finishing operations performed at E & D Plastics include:
  • Edge polishing
  • Bevelling
  • Radiusing
  • Bonding
  • Solvent welding
